Film Production

Collaborative, Start-to-Finish Storytelling

A flexible collaborator for film and media projects.

I work with filmmakers as a flexible collaborator who can jump in where needed—whether that’s research, production, or the edit. With a background in anthropology, organizational marketing communications, and experience across community history and independent filmmaking, I bring creative rigor, organizational clarity, and a strong sense of story to every project.

From shaping narratives in the editing room to managing timelines and fundraising to planning community screenings, I help ensure films are both thoughtfully made and seen by the audiences they’re meant for.

Every project is so different so reach out to discuss your needs.

A woman wearing a black dress and patterned blue and purple jacket is speaking in front of a large screen with an image of three women dressed in white, standing in a natural setting. The screen has the words 'OAKLAND ILOKANA' and text in a different language.
  • Steady, organized support from start to finish. I manage timelines, workflows, budgets, and communication across teams—keeping projects on track and under budget while making space for creative work to thrive.

  • Story-led research grounded in an anthropological approach. With bachelor’s and master’s degrees in anthropology, I bring a deep commitment to context, ethics, and lived experience—whether that’s archival research or developing stories through interviews and observation. I ensure each project is thoughtful, well-researched, and rooted in the worlds and communities it represents.

  • I develop compelling proposals, shape narratives, and lead fundraising efforts to position films clearly and compellingly for funders and partners. I successfully funded my own independent film by winning multiple grants and organizing a large-scale community fundraising campaign, and can do the same for your film.

  • Thoughtful planning to connect films with the audiences they’re meant for. I support projects from early positioning through release—shaping how a film is framed, who it’s for, and how it reaches them. This includes marketing strategy, social content development, and content creation for platforms like Instagram and TikTok, as well as campaign planning, audience targeting, and outreach.

  • As an editor, I shape footage into a clear, compelling narrative. I approach editing with an anthropologist’s eye—attentive to rhythm, emotion, and meaning—crafting stories that feel grounded, intentional, and resonant.

I can also support projects an assistant editor, from media organization and syncing to project prep and turnovers.

  • My favorite part of the process – bringing your film to the community. I can find partners and venues, plan your event down to the run-of-show, make sure things run smoothly on the day of the event, and make sure events are planned to connect with the communities whose stories are being told.
